logMeIn Client

I have been using LMI Pro for a number of years, but this morning, I have gone to remote control, as always, but have got message about dowloading LogMeIn client, which seems to open in a separate screen. When I exited I was given the option of leaving on PC for "quicker access next time" or removing.

What is going on? Why is LMI now working differently to how it has always worked?

Win7 64-bit 8GB RAM all updates

(PS XP PC asked to update LMI yesterday)

I too am having this issue, using Forefox on a MAC (Mavericks).

Have to download the client and run it each time.

Would be nice if there is a way to download the client app and install, rather than download and run each time.

Seems like the client doesn't stay installed under Applications folder.

I spoke to them this morning. Heard the same, new client app. I hate it, and I hate using ten different pop-up windows for ten sessions. I need easy use of browser tabs for sessions back now. I'm writing to feedback@logmein.com to express my severe displeasure. If they can't make the new client open in a tab instead of a new instance, I am going to look for other options. Maybe teamviewer.

I spoke to LMI support a couple of days ago - apparently they are moving to an app based system & the client thing is how it is now. I did point out that it would have been nice to have been told/warned of what was happening...

On the up side though, I can now download 2 files from different locations on the same PC at the same time....

I am having the identical problem. Started yesterday for me. I am running Firefox, Windows 7 Pro, 64. I noticed either yesterday or the day before I noticed a pop-up regarding Firefox compatability of add-on check.

I want to say I started using Firefox because of issues with Internet Explorer. I really do not want to go to Chrome. I do not like it.

Yes, I have noticed the same issue, 2 years ago I used chrome, then due to some issues with Logmein and chrome, I switched to firefox. So for the past 2 years I have used firefox and it has worked perfectly.

Then on friday, after trying to remote desktop, I was asked to download the logmein client app and remote desktop through the app instead of through the browser. Logmein essentially forced the app. Is anyone aware of why this is occuring?

It looks like I am going back to using an improved chrome and logmein combination.

Afraid I cannot not be of assistance on this

I use either Chrome or IE here at the office. Haven't used Firefox for several years now. Too many of my vendor sites are incompatable with Firefox. I believe there are quite a few that use FF here on LMI and might be able to help.
