Connect directly to Remote session from Desktop shortcut

As in this (LOCKED) thread /t5/Free-Pro-User-to-User-Support/Setting-up-a-Desktop-shortcut/m-p/18930/

How can I make a desktop shortcut go directly to a remote session (ideally in the client app) without having to take all those steps to do so (i.e. click shortcut, log in, click remote desktop, open client app, log into remote session).

I want to reduce the number of steps between me and my PC for very quick remote access.

Adding &hostpath=/go=r to the shortcut URL does not accomplish anything

I'm not going to pay $100 yearly for a service that cant do this.
