When power unplugged on 1920 x 1080 VGA monitor , this reduces resolution to 1600 X 1200.

Here is the situation (seen similar threads, but not really hitting exact issue):

I have two computers, both identical, with identical Dell P2314H monitors at 1920 x 1080 resolution. If I use Logmein while the host computer is physically attached to that monitor, all displays perfectly and matching. However, if the host monitor is disconnected (unplugged), then the next time I connect the same two computers through logmein, the resolution is maxed out at 1600 X 1200. However, if at that time, I then use Remote Desktop instead of logmein, then I can get the 1920 X 1080. So this does seem exclusively a Logmein limitation, not a graphics card one.

What I'm trying to accomplish, is to have the host computer not have a monitor attached to it and get the 1920 X 1080 resolution. Yet, I don't seem to be able to accomplish this with Logmein Pro, but I can with Remote Desktop.

By the way, if there is not a work around... I basically have to cease using Logmein and have our users VPN and remote desktop. Or maybe see if somebody else has a service that doesn't have this resolution limitation.

After a little bit of research and not finding a fix, we ended up hooking the computer up to an unused port on a monitor that is in use by somebody locally. So one person is using the monitor at the office hooked up to the dport, and the host logmein computer is hooked up to the DVI on that same monitor.

Not a great solution, but at least it prevents us from having to buy a monitor just to dedicate it to this computer that nobody sits at.

There is no details given to help you. How about some hardware info, current OS, etc that might give anyone a hint to start making suggestions?

OS: Windows 95,98,XP,7,8,10, LINUX (vendor), UNIX (vendor), MS Server 2003, 2008, 2012 etc.

Hardware: CPU, Memory, Graphics, Card, NIC etc.

What is the funny noise my car is making, please reply ASAP with what it is < lots of info huh?

That said, there are many here that would be very happy to spend time on this if we have information on the first post giving detail. If not it gets passed and no return.
