Remote in from XP to Windows 8 64 is ridiculously slow. Ridiculously. Slow.

I saw this alluded to, but never came up with a solution. I have used LMI for years from xp to xp platforms with absolutely no issues. I applied exceptions in the firewall settings but it made no difference.

Any suggestions for a logmein fix? or equally good, another remote desktop solution that runs well on these two platforms in the direction mentioned above? I just set up a win8 box for my folks, but I'm an hour and a half away, and need to log in on occasion to fix/do stuff for them.

i am having the same problem but haven't yet tried adding firewall exceptions. bullpen, how did you add those exceptions so I can give that a try? i am still trying to find everything in windows 8! thanks!
