Black screen when remote to OSX 10.8.4

I'm working out of the country at the moment and setup (and tested) LogMeIn before I left so I can use my Mac Mini Server (10.8.4) whilst on the road. The problem I have is that I can see it as online in LogMeIn Central, and I can do file transfers etc. However when I try to remote to the desktop, I get a pointer, the LogMeIn remote control notification, but not desktop - just a black screen. I can move the pointer across the screen and even click to close the notication, but no desktop. The Mac Mini is running headless and I usually use screen sharing from whilst on the same network - this works fine.

I'm using a MBPr with the latest LogMeIn client plugin and have tried both Safari, Chrome and the LogMeIn App on my iPad.

I've been into Preferences->Advanced->Reboot Options and done both "Restart LogMeIn", Normal Reboot and Hard Reboot - all to no avail.

Any ideas?

Not sure if this will help, but I was having the same problem. I looked at the logs (Preferences-->Advanced --> Event Logs (view files)) and found that LogMeIn was having an issue with the sound drivers. I remember recently turning the sound "on" so I turned it off. I then restarted LogMeIn (Preferences-->Advanced --> Reboot (View Reboot Options:Restart Logmein)). Waited about 5 minutes and I was able to use "LogMeIn".

T_Moore.......Did you not READ what the guy said? He, & I, are on Mac Minis, NOT WINDOWS. So, your Windows solution for turning OFF accelerators IS NOT A FIX FOR US. Please, ACTUALLY READ THE PROBLEM THAT IS POSTED & PROVIDE THE CORRECT SOLUTIONS, EITHER MAC OR PC, DEPENDING ON WHAT IS ASKED ABOUT. Really?

So I found a bit of a workaround; I went into preferences and set the option to log out the host after a remote session, I then connected (got black screen *sigh*) and then disconnected, I then connected a second time and saw the login screen where I could click "restart". This rebooted the machine and I was then able to use LogMeIn (Pro) to get back in again - I then promptly setup Back to My Mac in iCloud settings and have been using that ever since.

For some reason all the reboot commands I issued via LogMeIn Central didn't work, so this leads me to believe there was some sort of problem with the host LogMeIn install. I'm going to fall back on Back To My Mac for now, as it does what I need and for some reason seems to be far more responsive than Log Me In is.

having similar issue on MAC..BUT on system 10.6.8...i can see the compters to access, but once i select, all i get is a blank black screen...i am preparing a for a month business trip and planning on accessing office computer from iPad....but if i cant resolve i guess LogMeIn wont work as tauted

If you are able to connect to the host and get to the preferences, I would recommend trying to disable the display accelerator. You can find the information on how to do this below:
