Certificates of Completion?

Is there a way to have GoToTraining automatically send a Certificate of Completion out when someone completes a training course? I would need to customize it with several lines of text and, of course, the person's name.

Its been a few months any eta on certificate of attendance and or completion option ? if so please forward link and i will forward to webinar provider to help in thier navigation. and i will be starting to give webinars as soon as you have this ready to go. i feel it will be a big boost.

If it is a certificate of attendance it does not compromise integrity. It just verifies they attended a session-and these are required in many professions as proof of continuing education hours. A certificate program is a very different thing.

We would also want this feature in GoToWebinar, not just GoToTraining-and it would save us from manually making and emailing these. We do many webinars that are approved for continuing education. We want:

1. Webinar name

2. Webinar date

3. Participant name

4. Our logo

5. Length of program (60 minutes scheduled, etc)

6. Presenter name

In our course LMS we upload a Jpeg of the certificate we want and then add the features.

I noticed that this option is not available in our plan and will look into how we can incorporate it. This is a great start but could GTT customize it so that admins can schedule the certificate to only go to attendees who actually participated for a certain amount of time? My organization can only provide certificates of completion to professionals who have participated in a webinar for at least 50 mins for example. Right now, anyone who "attends" the webinar, even for just 10 minutes, would receive the same follow-up as someone who attended for a full hour.

Just spoke with Customer Service and found out that Certificates of Completion were not added to the 20-seat GTT Starter package. Citrix Product Development, please add this feature to all tiers of GTT. We need to provide certificates of completion also at the 20-seat level.

Done beats Perfect. Rollout the basic certificate shown and you can improve it next decade.

This Idea is posted in the GoToTraining section of the Collaboration community. When you are reading a Topic that you noticed on the main page of the community, you can tell which product(s) it applies to by looking at the category mentioned at the top.

At this time I have not seen any ETA of Certificates being added to GoToWebinar.

Agree. I use GoToW, not GoToT. I need certificate functionality for the GoToW product.

Glenn, Can you make sure everyone knows you are talking about GTT, not GTW. I've been confused for a while thinking Citrix was going to launch this in GTW. Are certificates ever going to be available in GTW? I have been asking about it for a long time, and I can't get a definitive answer SPECIFIC TO GO TO WEBINAR!

So at this point, do we need to design and create our own certificates and then use the mail merge to send them out? Sorry, we are new users, and are trying to get an answer to this question.

All of the above are great comments. Just wanted to add that I would like this feature as well.

Our challenge is being able to easily distribute Certificates with integrity, but also allow for batch exporting and bypassing, as we often have one person registered, but many in the room participating. And that just isn't something G2T is able to track.

So being able to import a list of the non registered participants and create certificates that way is also desirable. I.E. Simple click and go generate process for registered and active participants, but also a relatively simple UI to accommodate manual and multiple certificate distribution.

I agree with T, however, we often have sessions with 1,000 people in them, and archiving them one by one would never work. I'd prefer to be able to batch export them and save them in a file. And because we have repeat participants, the file name would have to be firstnamelastname_session_title_date.

p.s. one other item we meant to include in our post above:

After many years of training we can report that attendees lose their certificates (a lot). We have attendees who call a week, a month, or even five or ten years after a training wanting a replacement certificate. When they call it's very important to them (usually they're being audited by an employer or a licensure board). They expect us to be able to reproduce it immediately. In order for us to use the G2T certificate as our official certificate, G2T needs to provide a mechanism for certificate replacement.

G2T can't archive these certificates indefinitely but we can. So in addition to the "Send certificate" button described above, also include an "Export certificate" button which brings up the standard hard drive navigation dialog box where we can choose a hard drive folder for export. Then save each certificate that has been checked as a pdf in the selected folder with a filename constructed as "Lastname.Firstname" (pulled from the registration form).

I agree with T about the integrity, but there is only so much we can do. I suggested that we be able to set the minimum number of minutes/hours the person is in the session in order to receive a certificate of attendance. The certificate should show how many minutes (log in time and out time) which the system already collects. The system also records if attendees ask questions and respond to polls and that activity could further attest to their participation level. However, I only provide certificates of attendance, not a certification of mastery of the content. But, if there was a manual option, you could have people take a test and if they pass you provide the certificate. Regulations about certifications vary from industry to industry and from profession to profession, so it's best to build with flexibility in mind. I think the barrier for gotowebinar is lower than gototraining. GoToTraining has testing capabilities.

There's a lot of discussion here about what fields should be present on the certificate but there are also certificate integrity and certificate process considerations.

Certificate integrity ....
A certificate, of course, certifies something. For a training a certificate certifies 1) attendance or 2) attendance + a demonstration of ensuing competence. Attendees who need a certificate need it to present to somebody (like to the boss to demonstrate attendance, in support of that promotion) or to a body (like to a state board for licensed medical professionals who must demonstrate completion of continuing education and a passing test score to keep their licenses).

There was mention in an earlier post about automatically including a certificate in the follow up email. We think that could compromise certificate integrity and cause a real problem for us. For example automatically issuing a certificate to an attendee who only stayed for half the training, or automatically issuing a certificate to an attendee who did not pass the test given for the training. We're not sure what we would do if G2T automatically included a certificate in the follow up email due to these issues. We could turn off the follow up email but that's exactly how we deliver our tests ("After training in follow up email") plus of course other post training materials.

G2T already has features that help monitor attendance (it tracks how long attendees were logged in) and verify competence (via "During" or "After" tests). This data is available to the organizer after the training via G2T reporting and would support certificate integrity per a certificate process as below.

Certificate process ....
Organizers should be able to send certificates manually as well as automatically. Allow the organizer to make this choice when defining the training. For trainings defined with choice "Send certificates automatically" then include the certificate automatically in the follow up email as suggested. For trainings defined with choice "Send certificates manually" allow the organizer to send certificates manually after the training (from that training in the "Past trainings" list) by checking boxes next to the names of attendees who should receive certificates and then clicking a "Send certificate" button (similar to the manual approval process for registration) after reviewing attendance and test reports.

If issuing certificates manually is not possible, then make automatic certificates optional (and we'll issue certificates outside of G2T).

Regarding certificate design ....
A customizable drag & drop form like an MS Access report form would be good, but if not then for the simple certificate shown above:

First name, last name, job title (pulled from the registration form)
Training title, start date, end date, length in hours

Instead of "This certificate is proudly presented to" let the organizer define the text that goes here
Instead of "This learner played a critical role ..." let the organizer define the text that goes here
Instead of "Trainer" let the organizer define the text that goes here and above it include a graphic of the trainer signature
Instead of the G2T logo let the organizer include the company logo here
Allow some additional color choices if possible

I concur with everyone who is calling for this to be added to GotoTraining. I think the generic graphic shown above would work, with an option for time spent in class available. If the field were user-driven, as needed, that would make this feature all the more useful. If we could build the entire certificate, this would be the ultimate choice.

We are interested in this as well. Our requirements are to have:

1. Program Name
2. Program Date
3. Participant's Name
4. Our company Branding/Logo
5. Length of Program (as scheduled - 60 Minutes, 90 Minutes etc)

This is so exciting. I need the name of the session, the time the person logged into the session, the time the person logged out of the session, or the number of minutes in the the name of my organization, the name of the participant and the date. Thus is very exciting. Is there a way to provide certs if someone watches the vudeo, too? (Give me an inch, and I want a mile!)

- Attendee name
- Webinar title
- Date of webinar
- Presenter/Host
- Logo

It looks like you have all that in there. In addition, if there's an option to add other text that would be great too. Excited about the possibility of this added feature!

Hi, we are beginning to look into adding certificates for attendees and would appreciate your feedback about what you want and how you need it to work. Our initial version will simply be a certificate included in the follow up email sent to all those who attend.

Based on this idea being made a consideration a year ago - when can we expect it to be available?

I am running 3 webinars every fortnight so by end of Q1 (March 2015) would be ideal.
