LastPass Extension 4.107.0 User Interface not working properly

Wow! Woke up this morning, signed into LastPass for Edge and the UI has changed, for the worse, I'm afraid. Recents don't work, All Relevant shows nothing, Favorites sort in some unpredictable order. This is not good! May I revert to the previous version of the extension?

[Update] :: We identified the source of LastPass' recent Vault issues and have just released a fix that should resolve most of the reported issues on this thread. Please refresh your browser to confirm.

I'm very sorry this recent update has caused problems accessing and auto-filling passwords from your vault. We are currently investigating the cause, and I'll update you as soon as I hear more. One suggestion you can test is temporarily disabling the new Save and Fill functionality from within your Vault's Advanced Options. Also, some users have stated that mobile apps are not seeing the same behavior currently.

To be honest, I don't know what version I'm on. So far I've followed this process on 8 of the 12 accounts I own and thay all are still working. I mainly use Edge.

I am on day 3 and still using the "old version" of the Firefox extension. Whatever I did is still working. One thing confusing to me is version number still reads 4.107.1.3.

So, maybe the problem isn't the version number, but those advanced setting that I changed?

Concur! I am a premium user and hate the new extension. Please at least bring back access to folders from the drop down. Takes far more steps now to go to vault to rummage around trying to find what I'm looking for when my previous folder organization worked smoothly and quickly.

After a couple of days of returning to the previous version. the current version

is now working through no effort of my own besides reverting to the previous version a few times.

can't search in the main menu, can't fill passwords, in the 'vault' thing.. no buttons work. can't launch, cant edit, cant view passwords.

You are absolutely right. For me it started long ago when they scrambled my vault organization changing to predetermined categories. Can't be fixed.

Ths latest UI change is even more ridiculous than previously. You are right about the menu that comes up when you press the LP icon. Only now it is a popup with a lot of useless empty space and some icons that you have to guess theier use until you rtry them all. Now if you press the "Account" icon you get almost a menu as we had before this change. Now you have to click on three icons or menu items to get where you only had two licks. Sounds like no big deal, it is if you are doing this all day ! There is all these icons whch sometimes lead the the old menus items. Are we drifting away from the use of text alltogether? Well they say the there are more and more illiterates of growing generations.

Another example of this stupid thinking is the the LP login they changed a while back. you enter your login name, password or click on "Authenticator", you then get a useless box that asks if you're having a problem with an arrow pointing down. I could not find a place to enter my athenticator

code. After trying to get by this I decided I had a problem so I clicked on the down arrow and Lo & Behold, there was the box for the code entry! Now why in the world are two steps needed to do one entry?

I'll add my voice here. New UI and functionality is terrible. I've been using LP for more years than I can remember and have never been as frustrated as I have been with this update. Luckily the post on how to turn off the new look worked for me and I'll be sending that info on to my entire company so everyone can do so.

As it's been said before: Roll this "update" back, properly test/QA etc. Keep in mind, if you have to retrain your users on how to use even the most basic functionality of the app, you've likely done too many changes at once. Incremental release of tested and proven functionality will serve you better. Release a change, invite feedback, revise, and release. Then move on to the next change. Don't arbitrarily change pretty much EVERYTHING, release it, and depend on your clients to be your QA team...

I don't want to jinx this, but yesterday (Jan 24) my Edge extension reverted to the old interface and has stayed on the old interface for about 18 hours. The database is still slow. But then I open or edit a record it no longer opens the vault. The latency remains but not as bad. If I make a change and save the record nothing happens when I click on the LP extension icon for about 20 seconds, it seems the system locks until the change is applied. But I'm much happier than I was Sunday and Monday.

I am currently running with the LastPass extension v4.107.0.2. All of the comments about broken functionality are spot on! This is so bad I can't stand it. I literally spent a couple of hours researching other password managers and am preparing to migrate away from LastPass. I have been a customer for years at various levels, currently Enterprise. I was trying to give the benefit of the doubt and hoped this would be fixed by now. Bottom line, I've lost all confidence in LastPass and the parent company LogMeIn.

I'd even be content if they just rolled back to the previous extension version that worked, but my guess is that is not an option or they would have done so by now. 😞

I think of all the people over the years to whom I recommended LastPass, and I'm embarrassed to have my name associated with LastPass at this point. Like many others, I suspect I'll be spending some significant time migrating myself and others away from LastPass.

Please tell me I'm wrong, and point me to a real fix.

Extension is still badly broken on Chrome 109.0.5414.75

Really, really bad. The extension is unusable even after clearing local data and refreshing the vault.

Between this and the recent hacks (plural) it finally feels like it is "move to another solution" bad.

I am seeing improvement today -- searching seems to work. Auto fill is faster.
Though it didn't recognize it's own logmeinc.com domain after inserting the username.

Not only does my extension not work, I can't see any of my passwords in the vault. Nothing is working on my end. Uninstalled/reinstalled, clear cache, reinstall chrome, disable new save/refill feature. So unreliable, this is crazy.

Hi, You go to : > Advanced Options and then toggled off the "Use improved save and fill" Option. It works, if youi are a premium member, not so sure about free accounts, but beware it keeps switching itself back!

It seems that the functionality that I use from the Chrome extension is working again.

Incredible that these bugs were not detected by your QA. I wonder if you have QA...

What puzzles me: bugs fixed but the version of the extension is still 4.107.0. Not only lack of QA but also of version control.

Was forced this morning onto the now Chrome browser add-on. It's a piece of junk. bloated, slow, and the worst thing is is does not work. It takes forever to update and Chrome asks to kill the page. It's not workable. This tells me Lastpass have lost the plot. All I need is for them to keep my stuff safe and they failed at that, now their updates are worse than ever.

Awesome! That worked for me. I can now use the previous version (Edge Extension) and it seems to be working.

Thank you so much for finding a temporary solution. This was driving me crazy. I can't believe that LastPass's Support makes you request help and does NOT provide a telephone number to Contact them. It's a terrible way to support its customers. Now I think I will change my password manager. I see that there is Nordpass along with 1Password and Roboform to name a fee of the players. Any suggestions of another manager would be greatly appreciated. Again many thanks to solving this problem with LastPass.

If you go to the Lastpass Support page and search for the latest version, you get a page which lists 4.106.0 as the latest release. Does it mean we have installed a malware?

I am pretty sure it's not the case but guys, let me tell you the overall user experience for the product and website is getting worse and worse.

I am a loyal customer and a promoter, but I am increasingly unconfortable with what I see...

I have not touched anything all day, but I just checked and I too have the extension back as it was before today. I'm noting the version is now: 4.107.0.2. Not sure if the ".2" added to the OP's version number, means something has been fixed, or what, but please don't touch anything. This was a nightmare all day!

Thanks @AshC turning off save and fill has helped with the display of the lastpass dropdown and I can search and access my passwords again. I couldn't save new passwords from the dropdown, so maybe it will solve that problem too. We will see.
Pretty disappointed with yet another LastPass update that hasn't been tested properly and has broken pretty much every user workflow. If I didn't have hundreds of passwords stored I'd seriously reconsider where I'm putting my money 😞

Thanks @AshC - this has solved it for me. No more jumping around when Simply trying to write capital S or L. I'm back to being in control of the keyboard shortcuts 🙂

This is not solved by any means. I spent almost 90 minutes on the phone with tech support and with remote desktop I was able to walk them through the steps and they tried everything from clearing cache, deleting the extension, then using a new blank Chrome profile and nothing worked. The technician escalated to Tier 2. My brother called me just now and he uses LP too on his phone and now he's locked out because his master password didn't work like the thousands of times he's used the app. I told him to hold tight until they call me back. I wouldn't do anything, don't even export your passwords or risk an account wipe. Considering how long this his lasted, it's a major hit on their bottom line because nobody can access their passwords out side of the tiny moments where it works until you log out and try getting back in afterwards. For me, the only browser that works is Edge and that's with a caveat - I can access my recents and also look up passwords from the extension but if I open my vault, it's now broken too. With Edge, I still get the old extension popup with Chrome and Firefox using the updated UI.

It is already disabled on both my Chrome and Edge browsers. So that doesn't seem to be the issue.

How did this upgrade ever make it past QC? Why is there no update on LastPass's blog? Time to look for a new password manager. In the meantime, all my users are totally F'ed....

Firefox extension on Mac also is broken beyond use.
They side window autosearch does nothing. Entering any search term, returns ALL options or none

I can only select options from the in-screen fields -- IF there's no 'eye' icon to show passwrd, which always overlaps with the lastpass trigger

-- Effectively, I have to open my vault and find, edit, unhide and copy the password in order to log in to anyting.

--- generating new passwords in-field, doesn't remember the settings (have to reselect special characters each time); if I do it from the exteension window its fine.

Given this appears to be an issue in all browers versions -- How'd it pass QA?
Seriously making me question continuing with this service.

I can't search anything at all in my Vault through the extension. Also, why can't I browse like I used to be able to. This is a horrible update for this extension.

Time to start to look at another product.

The copy button doesn't even show up when searching for an item. Clicking on an item causes it to open up in edit mode:

@Bimdan I agree that the UI needed a refresh and perhaps if this new one worked at all, I'd even like it. I can see where they were trying to go and I'm not against the design. But, like you and everyone else here, it has to actually work for us to use a new UI and give it a fair chance.

The fact that LastPass has not responded at all and is radio silent on all public facing sites is unacceptable. I just completed having them remove the auto-renew from my account. I guess the clock is ticking for me to find a new solution over the next 60 days. This is the last time I'm putting up with LastPass releasing product updates that break basic functionality. The QA department at LastPass should all be fired - or perhaps they don't even have one since it would seem even the most basic QA process would have kicked this thing back.

I'm in the same boat with the OP. The fact that the Chrome extension doesn't return searches is killing me. And the relevant list is simply my Chrome logins, regardless of the site. Not helpful.

I'm not a fan of working directly out of the vault, although that seems to be the only option at this point.

p.s. According to LastPass Help, there is no way to disable automatic updates to the Chrome extension...much less revert to a previous version.

I have fixed this by reinstalling an extension...but in your case...I cannot imagine what to do.

I am supporting an organization of almost 800 users that are now affected by this same issue. The "All Relevant" is not suggesting proper matches. It either matches nothing or it matches to a site that is open in another tab/window. The only portion that seems to work top find proper matches is the in-field pop up menu on each open web page.
LastPass. You need to fix this and until you do, you need to roll back the update.

I did find quitting FireFox and restarting solved a few of the issues. But it's a pretty clumpy design now I have to agree. I ended up having to do a password reset on one site because I couldn't find it in my vault, only to realise that the search is actually not working in lastpass now. Shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get an update to work, it should 'just work' or alert you if you need to do something in particular. E.g. restart. It's important for work that I can find logins quickly and easy, the drop down is awful now, doesn't show relevant sites, doesn't autofill even though the option is ticked, what a mess.
Geez, and I PAY for this. ???

Update... LastPass just forced me to re-login on all my PC's. Was fine on the first 2. Now it isn't accepting my password on my laptop... Everyone export NOW - we may be hosed...

All tabs are showing login credentials for my Google Account. So doesn't seem to be getting the context of the current tab. Work PC was updated when I came in this morning. I uninstalled and reinstalled - still broken!

Now each of my other PC's are forcing a login and are also broken.

One more nail in the coffin for LastPass (as if it wasn't already nailed shut).

This change is terrible. I had to change two passwords today, and neither registered in Last Pass as it used to. This is about the Last Straw, I have a family membership but I am thinking of advising my family to change to a different password manager. Whoever thought up this UI change should be fired.

How is it that 3 hours after this post and there is no response from Lastpass. No emails, nothing on FB nothing on Twitter. I tried to call them and there is no phone number. I'm going to have to reevaluate my continuing to subscribe with them. Terrible customer service!

No release notes published to document everything they broke.

This is a disaster!

Search doesn't find anything in my vault. In the previous experience I used to search e.g. 'portal' for all item which contain that word. But now: nada!

And if I do find anything, the copy button (to copy the password) doesn't work.

Adding an item to the favourites doesn't work.

Please, please, fix asap! Or let me revert to the previous experience.

Agree with all the posts here. The new version has broken most functionality. The vault is working OK for me and if I turn on the "Show autofill icon in fields" option (which I do not normally use) I can select a valid user/pw from that dropdown. But, the plugin window that was murdered in this version doesn't work at all. Nothing in the "Relevant" which I assume should be passwords that match the current site. Search doesn't work or always returns the same results no matter what I type, nothing in favorites. Autofill doesn't work. I'm using the Edge extension but it sounds like the issues persist in Chrome based on the feedback I see here. I hope LastPass either rolls this update back or produces a fix quickly. The quality of this tool continues to decline with each "update". I was already having to logout and back in constantly to get the plugin to work since the last update. I'm going to start shopping for alternatives for our company (we use the Business version). Absolutely unacceptable quality assurance on new versions and never a quick fix. Let's hope this time is different.

It is really really bad, please put the old one back this makes it so much harder to find things that i had setup in folders, or make it to where I can favorite a folder and not all the items in a folder.. what a mess.

We can only hope they fix this! Keyboard shortcuts are out the window and the experience is horrible now.

I went and downloaded my entire vault, so just to be safe, and so I can migrate it to somewhere else. What a PITA.

Even more since I am a premium user 😞 Also, no easy way to contact support.

If you need to access a site, you can search the vault, right click on the found item and copy the username and then copy the password. I can't edit things, but at least I can still fetch the passwords somehow.

Same here but actually worse. I can't edit any of my passwords on either Chrome or Firefox. I click on the edit icon and nothing happens. How in the world did this ever get past QA? This is a simple test case that somebody didn't bother to test. Going to look into getting something else if I LP says I need to delete all my 100 sites and manually add them back using the new interface.

4.107.0 is completely broken on Linux (Ubuntu) + Vivaldi.

My browser crashed on me four times already, always when interacting with the extension.

Autofill does not work.

When I click on the LastPass icon and type in anything, it always says: nothing found.

When I enter the vault, I can search, but it is not possible to edit anything.

Do something, please, and quick!!

Concur with OP. Please return extension to previous version. The new version is horrible and complicates login. You can only launch from the drop down?! Yesterday I could choose and fill in two clicks. Come on, this new interface is horrible. Fix it please!
