Audio Test has been rolled out for all customers in GoTo Webinar, GoTo Meeting, and GoTo Training.
Audio Test lets you record and instantly replay a short sample to confirm your microphone and volume settings before speaking to your audience. No guesswork. No relying on attendees to validate your setup.
It’s a quick, built-in way to start every session sounding prepared and professional.
How It Works
Audio Test is available in Audio Settings and works the same way whether catching a potential issue before the session starts or making a quick adjustment while already live.
Before the session:
- Access Audio Test directly in Audio setup
- Select preferred microphone and speakers
- Monitor the live input level indicator as a quick first check
- Hit Record and speak naturally for at least five seconds
- Hit Play to hear exactly what the microphone captured
- If something sounds off — swap devices, adjust settings, and run the test again before anyone joins
Already live in a session?
- Open the Settings panel at any time during a live session
- Navigate to the Audio tab
- Run the same record-and-playback flow to validate audio or troubleshoot an unexpected change
- Other participants won't hear anything during the test
In both cases:
- The recording is completely private
- Nothing is saved once the test is complete
- The entire process takes under a minute
