Android LastPass having trouble entering PayPal password

This happens on Android 8.0.0 with all versions of the Android LastPass and PayPal apps. I keep them up-to-date.

When I launch PayPal, the app asks for my password. LastPass presents the autofill dropdown. I select that. The password appears for a second, then disappears.

With biometrics on, the PayPal app asks for my fingerprint. I scan my finger. It jumps to the password screen, where the above happens. I am then returned to the PayPal biometrics screen.

So in general, the only way to get into the PayPal app is to ignore the autofill prompt, and copy the password from LastPass.

Can this be fixed, or can a feature be added to exclude some apps from autofill?

Ive been looking through Lastpass android Settings\AutoFill\Show autofill dialog and have turned on 'Show quick settings tile'. Ive never used this in the past.

BUT now when I open Paypal I click the Lastpass autofill tile in the notifications area the same Lastpass dialog appears with my PayPal login, when pressed it inserts the password correctly. So this method works but not the method used in my above post.

Also, I installed BitWarden and this inserts the password directly from its popup dialog after opening PayPal.

I have this issue with Lastpass when using a few other apps as well.

I contacted LastPass support via their online form, here's their response:

" PayPal and other apps, especially those that have a higher level of protection, demands that a user manually enters their login details. When attempts are made by LastPass, it is blocked. Regrettably, the only way around this situation is to copy/paste the login details when logging into this account. We're sorry about that. "

Have you tried contacting PayPal and verifying that it isn't a problem with their app and the Android autofill API to begin with?

Paypal has never worked with Lastpass for any of my Android phones. Do the developers even read posts in this community?

Same here, it never has, which is very annoying. Its not the only app either there are others. I don't have a clue why.

I was going to post this same issue. This happens an any version of Android. I can't believe this has still not been addressed.
