Yup, this one has me completly stumped.
I have a number of computers at remote sites. All they do is record video from USB webcams onto their hard drive all day. The recording software is Microsoft LifeCam and the webcams are various LifeCam series.
Whenever I log in for a session the file (a .wmv at -/Pictures/LifeCam files) that is being recorded to resets to 0 KB and starts climbing again. It doesn't start a new file. It actually uses the original file name (which is just a time stamp) and records over the original footage. The normal convention when you manually stop and start recording is for LifeCam to close the original file and generate a new one with a new name based on the present date and time.
This means that if my LogMein session times out, or is interuped, or I need to go offline with the control computer, then any recording that has been done since ending the last recording, up to the point when I log in again is lost. Disaster!! It also means that I cannot record at all unless each remote computer has a control computer logged into it.
All of these remote computers act the same. They are all running Windows7 but are different models. I have logged into them with various computers running various operating systems, from various locations and after varying periods. It happens every time.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
