I'll be posting a series of dozens of videos here showing how each and every scammer utilizes Logmein Rescue. I highly advise any and all legitimate technicians to switch to another product that is not so widely associated with scam artists. I recocmmend to all my customers and YouTube views to stay away from anyone wanting to connect to your PC via LogMeIn Rescue unless you know them personally.
I will continue this compaign until Logmein puts a stop to it. Logmein is profiting from many of these scammers that are paying LogMeIn for their service (some are using the trial version).
LogMeIn Rescue needs to display the IP address of the connecting computer and needs to deny any connections from a TOR or other proxy client utiized by the bad guys to hide their identity.
LogMeIn Rescue also needs to make a VERY LARGE WARNING (much larger than it is now) to REMIND victims in HUGE BOLD LETTERS to press Pause/Break on the their keyboards to stop the control. This information is not large enough. Watch how the scammers work around the current warning.
Until LogmeIn fixes these issues, I recommend all technicians use an alternative remote access product that is not associated in such a ubiquitous manner with scammers.
This video demonstrates the flaws in the LogMeIn Rescue software (please note, it is impossible to click the red x to close the window, because the person controlling the pc remotely can keep moving their mouse, which over rides the users mouse.) LogMeIn Rescue needs to always prioritize the connected computers mouse and keyboard over the remote mouse and keyboard. Basically, LogMeIn Rescue needs a LOT of improvement before I can recommend any one ever trust it again. Watch how the scammers work:
