I found some information that you might find useful for troubleshooting some Internet Explorer problems. We have recently had problems with IE 9,10,and 11 with opening/saving the Logmein Rescue file needed to start a session. Instead of getting the prompt to download Support-LogMeInRescue.exe we were getting Do you want to open or save code_aspx. The application logs also start getting filled with errors similar to the following:
Event ID: 454 Database recovery/restore failed with unexpected error -1104.
This error is related to corrupted webcache files that keep files from running correctly in web based applications. To fix these problems you can do the following.
- Close Internet Explorer
- Navigate to the following folder:
- C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WebCache
- Delete all files there
- Reopen Internet Explorer and now things should be working properly
If you are worried about the deletion of these files I would recommend making a backup of these files before removing them from the WebCache folder.
