Hi,
For the past two days Microsoft's Answer Desk has been unable to establish a remote connection with my Windows 7 Pro computer. Their second-level support tech is going to try tomorrow, but I thought you might have an idea what we should look for. The remote connection window seems to initially establish a connection, but then a disconnect occurs. We've tried using I.E. 10 and Google Chrome in regular mode, safe mode with networking, and tried with only Microsoft services running. We've (supposedly) eliminated all addons from I.E. 10. We've created a new user profile, also with administrator rights, etc., etc.
Every attempt (and there's been many), the connection screen looks the same, but with a different tech's name depending on who I'm connected with during that session. Each time, at the top of the remote screen will appear a red X and the word disconnected. This is what we get:
2:26 PM Connecting...
2:26 PM Connected. A support representative will be with you shortly.
2:26 PM Support session established with Lloyd.
2:26 PM Lloyd restarting application as Windows system service
2:26 PM Connecting...
2:26 PM Application running as Windows system service
2:26 PM Invalid certificate.
2:26 PM Connecting... [then the red X and “Disconnected” appear at the top of the session window].
Any quick thoughts regarding what we could or should do before trying to connect again? Appreciate any help. Thanks. Mark
