AVI Codec

I use Rescue to support my customers and I like very much the screen recording function. This allows me to capture the (again) working solution after troubleshooting any incident and send it as 'proove' to the customer. Now I had to realize/read at your documentation the resulting AVI uses a propretary codec. You suggest do install the AVI Converter which is not really handy for my use case - I cannot force any client to install AVI Converter to see my proove ... espacially as I want to 'proove' the working solution to customers with IT handling problems!

Is there any solution to concert the screen recording into a format which can be run on any regular PC?

It would be VERY usefull to be able to e-mail these files to folks to show them issues and/or resolutions without having to have everybody install a custom codec. Standards, please!!! Custom codec BAD!!!

Is there any program or option to convert this to something usable by the majority of computers in the world?!?!?!

Same here:

However,   I transfer the RCREC file to the customer.   Then I added a script AVIConvert.msi to run the install sheild on there end.   I convert the rcrec on there end and then I delete the ICONS to launch the converter, from the Desktop and or the Start Programs. This is a Pain - what is the deal....

At least they can now run my AVI. And beware,   Transfer your AVI to them may corrupt the File. That is why I push over the RCREC file first.

Been there, Done That -

I was Hoping that at least - LMI would create a Command line version to convert the rcrec files.    Then I could write a batch to convert and install the codec without Icons etc.... Add the batch to a script so to speak.   So Once the RCREC files are there then the batch can do the dirty work..

I don't get this propriety format.   Then you are not able to convert to other formats..

How about something more universal LMI -   I don't like this one bit. Although it is possible - it isn't good for our clients to have to install your LMI Converter program on their terminals...

That is the only solution I was able to make work.   Of course I did convert RCREC to AVI on my local terminal and transfered the AVI via FILE Transfer to the Customer . I installed the CODEC INstall on there end and they could see the AVI.   So When I sent the RCREC file first and then converted it on there end it worked....
