Add audio background (MP3) to play while having a powerpoint shared on the screen?

Would like to play background music during break or other powerpoint times. Replies that I found in the community are dated, any recent changes?

If you're using a USB headset, I recommend the stereo mixer solution; it will work the same in Windows 10 as it would with 7 and 8.

So Windows 10 is the same? Do I need to do the hardware thing also and if so, how is it done if headset microphone/speaker is a USB connection?
