Incorrect times on registration page and in attendee confirmation email

The time of the event is displaying incorrectly on the registration page and in the attendee email confirmation, but are correct in the event and in the email the organiser receives informing them of a registration. I note that this is not the first time people have had a problem with this ... what's going on? It looks really unprofessional :-(

OMG, well done Ash, you've only gone and solved it (I think)!

I have been in and changed the account settings for my Organizer login to "GMT / Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London" and it seems to have done the trick, although I will reserve judgement until registrants have received their emails/reminders. It wasn't intuitive as to how to do this, but I found it in the end; it was set to just GMT previously and I obviously don't know enough about the difference between the two to have spotted this.

If this does indeed work properly, thank you very much and apologies for my frustrations :-)

What I keep saying is that I have never previously had a problem with this so it's reasonable for me to deduce that something has changed in GTT. From the event I have scheduled, I click on 'Add to calendar' and it shows the wrong time (see below), it should be 15:00 to 16:00:

When you click on the registration link the time shows incorrectly as 4:00 to 5:00 BST! I've even taken to telling registrants to change their time zone (see below);

When registered, it's still the wrong time (see below);

Although, the email I receive as organizer shows the correct time (see below):

But, the email confirmation the attendee receives shows the wrong time (see below):

I'm getting more frustrated because I KNOW this is not what used to happen!

If you can explain this, better still address it, I will be a happy bunny! :-(((

I'm sorry we haven't been able to account specifically for BST in the GoToTraining time zone options. Did you also double-check to confirm that your account settings for your Organizer login is set to "GMT / Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London"?

Although the option listed as "GMT" is automatically adjusted from UTC + 0 hours to UTC + 1 hour during daylight savings time, the other option is listed under (GMT) Greenwich Mean Time is UTC + 0 year-round.

This problem is still occurring and it's just getting annoying now. I have noted many other comments around the same topic, some of which say that users have recently started having these problems (like me). I have used GTT for over 3 years and have only now started having this problem; GTT just no longer seems to be able to deal with the clocks going forward and back (BST) when previously this was not an issue.

It is just soooooo annoying!

Hi Jane,
What my last statement was meant to describe is the fact that the GoToTraining confirmation page doesn't have a way to know absolutely what timezone the computer is set to or what timezone the user will be in at the start time.

To be more clear, Attendees click 'Change time zone' on the right side of the registration page, then selects from a drop-down menu of available time zones to change the zone manually to their desired location. This should work for making adjustments when the Organizer originally scheduled an event in a different zone.

What I don't get is that I've been using GTT for nearly 3 years and I've never had this problem before so why is it happening now? It just causes all sorts of problems and looks really bad. It doesn't only inconvenience me, it inconveniences the attendees I have invited - is there any way that I can bulk email registrants to tell them that there's a problem with the way the time is displayed? That would go some way towards helping ... Also, is this bug likely to get a fix soon?

I'm sorry GoToTraining does not currently have the ability to confirm local time settings for new registrants, and apologize if this inconveniences you in some way.

Hi Ash, why should UK users need to click the show in my time zone link shouldn't the software know automatically? This is the first time I have come across this and I've been using GTT for a number of years. A lot of the attendees are new to the technology and won't know they need to change the time zone which means their reminders will show the incorrect times etc. It's really not very helpful and seems a 'backwards' step from what I'm used to.

On another, but connected note, I didn't receive a notification that a reply had been posted regarding this issue ...

Hi Jane,
I'm sorry for any confusion there.
Each attendee may click the link for 'Show in My Time Zone' in order to change the time frame to their relative location. This should then update the listed start time on the registration page.
