Screen sharing not functioning properly

I run a Win 7 Lenovo ThinkPad with an external monitor...configured as dual displays. I routinely run PPT using the presenter's view. The screen to be shared is the notebook and my speaker notes, chat, audience view, etc is on the big monitor. If use either of the choices shown below, it actually shares the wrong monitor. Would you be able to confirm the connection types between each monitor you are experiencing difficulty with?
