Data usage

I want to listen to some audio files from my host (work) computer from my connected laptop. My laptop is connected to my personal internet service plan and is limited because I live in a very rural area. When I open these files from the host computer A) Is it actually downloading them (using data) and

any data I do use - is my host computer or my personal laptop "charged" with this data? I don't want to listen to 50mb files if it will be eating up my personal data or I'll go broke. Also, I'm on a corporate plan so if this answer depends on how the account is set up, I have no idea. Thanks!

The other side of the data issue is that your laptop is also using data. So if your host computer is using data to download files (or are they stored on your host?) Either way, you are using the same amount of data via your laptop just being connected to the host.

Hi Sharon,
To answer your concerns here, anything happening on your Host computer (like streaming YouTube vids) is mostly taking up bandwidth at the Host location, though GoToMyPC does require additional data to send the audio/video out to your Client side.

And just to be super clear, a 50 MB file size won't actually take up that much data just to send it via GoToMyPC audio sharing-- but will still require some data usage for the remote location.
