I can't see what my student are chatting, the chat window is white - no text is displayed!

While you cannot see individual Attendee's chat messages to one another, you can see Chat messages directed to the entire audience or to you specifically.
If your Chat pane is completely dysfunctional, then I would suggest reinstalling GoToTraining from scratch after a regular reboot cycle.
