The help documentation in GoToTraining states that you should be able to use an iPads with 2+ breakouts using the iOS app for GoToTraining. When students use the iPad, they see nothing after the activity/breakout starts. Are iPads compatible with the activities/breakouts? Thanks!
It is not an error per se, it is that the ipad goes to a full-screen of the shared document and there are no controls to minimize, comment, edit, or anything else. The iPad user, if a student during a breakout, is stuck looking at the first page of a shared document this is as of 4 July 2020 when I tested the functionality on the iPad several times.
I tried this in a pre-class experiment and the iPad doesn't allow collaboration in google chrome. Sadly.
This issue is continuing to happen w/ participants on iPads in the breakout rooms. It happened today with 3 different participants on seveal different breakout room activities. No errors were shown. all connected through their device audio.
The participant was connected through microphone audio and didn't recieve any errors or messages while the issue was occuring.
I apologize for the difficulty @hugheslk08 ,
Do you know if the iPads could see any specific errors at the time?
Were they connected to the audio through Microphone or Telephone initially?
I've experienced an issue w/ participant on ipads not being able to participate in breakout room activites. After I launch the breakout room I can see (as an organizer) their name and mute/unmute icon start flashing in the attendee panel. They do not enter the breakout room and cannot hear any sound.
I've had them try logging out and logging back into the GTT session, but that doesn't help. It has occured w/ three different participants in 2 different GTT sessions.
Please tell me what I can do to troubleshoot this issue.
Usually clicking on a Google Doc link will trigger the App itself.
I am still waiting for updates on the recently identified iOS mobile problems with Breakouts though. Hopefully more info will be available in the coming days.
Hi Marsha,
We are currently investigating some iOS issues with GoToTraining Breakouts: Failing to start or join
While I don't know the ETA on a full resolution, it's a function that should be working, and is undergoing additional tests to confirm.
With regards to the Google docs you can share, you would first create the document through Google, and make sure it is editable by all. Then you can link that online documentation within the selected Training's materials while customizing your schedule. And Yes --- mobile users not only need to pre-install GoToTraining, but also the Google app to view your shared Google Docs.
Presuming that you can use an iPad with activities and breakouts, how do you collaborate on a Google doc? The help documentation states that "if a mobile attendee wishes to collaborate on a Google Drive (rather than view only), they must use the corresponding Google app to do so)". But, how do they get the Google doc file information to open it? Thanks!
