Hi,
I've looked for answers to this question before but I can't seem to find my post from 2019.
I've installed the CODEC on windows 10 1809 and can't get the recording to play or convert.
The Rescue .AVI file fixer doesn't seem to exist.
The Rescue .AVI Converter gets to the point where there is a progress bar and stalls.
I've tried various Win10 machines now and it's the same story. The only success I've had was using the converter on a Win7 Virtual Machine but the avi it created has a issue where it doesn't play in real-time, only the frames of movement on the screen play (all non-movement time is discarded).
Sad that LMI doesn't want to maintain their products, after a decade I'm looking at alternatives.
@tweebs Yes, there is a codec installed with the LMI application. Is some cases there may be an interfering code somewhere: https://help.logmein.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/Why-wont-my-video-play-after-installing-LogMeIn-en1
Yes, still unsure why. I tried installing the codec. Is it normally installed with the Technician console?
Hi @tweebs,
Sorry about that. Is every recorded video failing to play still?
Did you try the suggestions on this thread already?
I'm having the same issue. Windows 10 ver 1809. LMI rescue creates the AVI file and I can see the thumbnail of the video, but I can't get it to play back or open in any video editing/playing software including VLC.
Hi, i Run a Education Channel on YOUTUBE, I Recorded Several Videos Via LOG ME IN SCREEN Recording Program,

Hey,
It seems the racodec.ax isn't registered correctly on some computers.
I have a quick solution for this problem: start regedit, go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\drivers.desc
If "racodec.ax" cannot be found there at the right side, then simply create a new String value with the name "racodec.ax". The value itself can be anything, f.e. "LMI Screen Recording Codec".
For me, it works correctly now.
