LastPass icon grey in Chrome when I'm logged in

I'm just starting with LP, and I see in the user manual that "The LastPass extension in your browser toolbar...is red when logged in, and gray when you’re logged out." (I'd like to show a screen shot here, but I can't figure out how to get an image into this post.) However, using the latest Chrome under Windows 7, the LP toolbar icon is gray even when I'm logged in. Can somebody please explain this discrepancy?

If you see those menu options then you are signed in to the extension. Try logging out of the extension and signing back in. If the icon still doesn't turn red then there may be a corruption that uninstalling and reinstalling would likely fix.

You can easily remove LastPass by right clicking on the extension icon and selecting the relevant option. You would then install it again from the extension store.

It brings up a menu with these options:
- Search LastPass Vault
- Open my Vault
- Sites
- Secure Notes
- Form Fills
- Generate Secure Password
- Recently Used
- More options
- Preferences
- Help
- Log Out

You could be signed into the web interface. What happens when you left click on the grey extension icon?

Left click the grey icon and try signing into your account through the extension.
