Bypass users requirement to select YES to connect

As a feature request could you provide an option to not require end users to select YES to allow a connection to their system?

They already launched the Applet assuming they are getting remote support.

Another suggestion is to prompt the user for approved when the applet is installed , not later on.

The reason is some of our users are submiting a request and then queuing up but walk away from their desk excepting us to address it when we connect. But the connection is delayed until they come back and click YES.

Logmein Reach and free are not an option because they require a deployment of the application to each system before connecting.

Thank you for the info. I sent a very detailed list of feature requests based on personal and forum feedback.

After testing the beta there are some excellent new features coming in the next release. And there are some great features being added in the future that I believe alot of people will enjoy.

Among these features is unattended access from within Rescue that works very well and you still have all the benefits of rescue.

Sometime in Q1-2010 (may change) the issue of this topic regarding the YES permission is being addressed. I dont have many details on this but it will be soon.

I have just tested the beta Rescue and very much like the direction in regards to unattended support as well as the customizable Terms & Conditions.

I do have some feedback to provide that I believe will help during the beta testing. Where do I provide feedback related to beta testing? Do I just post them here or start a new thread for beta. It would be great if there was a sub-forum under Rescue for beta feedback (similar to "features & suggestions").

Thank you very much for all of your input. We have heard you, and currently we have a feature that is in beta that may address this need. It would be great if you took a look at it and provide some feedback on this capability which is in beta. Existing customers can login to try the beta at http://beta.logmeinrescue.com. The general availability date for this release has not been determined at this time. Please be aware that installing your tech console with the beta version should be done in a different environment than your current production environment.

LMI, when are you going to respond / comment on this??

The product in question is a pay product. Everyone that wants, requests, or is keeping an eye on this thread must also be paying customers. It has been stated a few times in this thread that the lack of a bypass on this "feature" is costing us (your paying customers) $$'s

I'm a huge supporter and promoter of all LMI products, so do not get me wrong, I'm not "hating". Just please explain why this can't be done, or tell us at least that you are working on it. The lack of response is not what I would expect from a company as awesome as this.

This is a needed feature, and just having a box pop up after they hit connect that says "do you want to give the technician full access to your computer when they connect for this session?" should not be too hard.

The more that I get my clients to start using the applet the more that I am running into this issue with the client having to leave before I can get back to the office to start the support session.

I am literally having to pull over, pull out my laptop and connect to the internet, and then make the box pop up for them so they can click "yes". Just so they can leave and I can do my job when I get a chance to get back to my office.

If you won't do this please at least let us know why.

I too think that this feature is desperately needed. Quite often a user will install the applet and then grab a coffee or leave their home / office, levaing me unable to solve their problem.

I have had a thought how this could be easliy achieved.

Can you just give the ability for a customer to agree to the full access session at the time they connect and ask the customer to put in a full access password.

Then only a Technician the customer told the full access password can initiate that sesion for full control.

I would still prefer just the tickbox stating the technician has Full Control, that can then bring up the warning and they can click YES at time of connection.

I currently install logmein free on all my customer computers to cover for this situation. I then have to login to the logmein free, click YES, then disconnect the logmein free.

I get the same result, only I have over 120 Free accounts which is now sparking licensing issues with the management at logmein about free accounts. Even though I only use it to cover for this short failing in rescue.

If they don't resolve this and take away my ability to use the free accounts to do this, I will be finding a new supplier of remote support

I also find this a problem for my customers. I am not always att he office, when I return I usually have a session watiing for me to connect and assist.

I then find the customer is not at their desk, but they want me to fix their issue.

Another is I am out of the office and get back too late to complete the session connection. If they had this abillity I don't need to be at the office to complete the connection, then I can work on their issue when I get back instead of the next day.

The abillity for a customer to tick a box or click the yes at time of initial connection would be very useful.

Something as simple as:

By ticking this box you allow the technician to take full control of your desktop without any further approvals required.

If you are worried about mistakes, you can add a confirmation page for the customer to make sure they wanted to do it as part of their login session. The same approval screen as comes up now could be the confirmation screen.

I setup a simple script using AutoIt3 that waiting for the box to pop up and then it clicks Yes. I still need to bundle it with the Calling Card install and find a way to replace the shortcut on the desktop, but the file itself works fine. I was thinking of creating another install routine using NSIS and packaging it using Paquet Builder. Have anyone else messed with this?
