One of my colleagues has serious problems while he works with any GoTo application. I will try to explain it:
First webinar (GoToWebinar): 28.10.2020
I have shared my screen. After I have switched from PowerPoint to RFEM (software for calculating structures) the problems starts. The screen become black for a second and switched back to normal mode. After switching to black and back for around 20 times my computer crashed and I had to reboot. We had more then 100 participants watching this. My colleague overtook and I continued after half an hour with my presentation.
Next webinar (GTW): 15.12.2020
Same again. This time fortunately, not the whole computer crashed but only my Intel graphic card ( I saw it in the device manager). After the crash one of my two monitors was off and I was able to work with the second monitor but 100 participants saw that I had an issue.
Training (GoToTraining): 18.12.2020
I was able to work for around 20 minutes without problems with RFEM. Then it starts again and the screen turns into black and back for many times. I have disconnected one monitor first and tried to work with one monitor. But there is was the same problem therefore I have disconnected the last monitor from my laptop and I have worked directly on my laptop with a small display.
Both drivers (Intel and NVIDIA) are up to date. I have updated to the latest ones after 28.10.2020. My settings you can see below on the images.
One monitor is connected via HDMI and the second monitor is connected via USB-C. I do not use the docking station anymore which caused the same problem.
This problems happens only when I work with GoTo. Without GoTo applications everything is OK. The problem is only, I cannot reproduce it. When I create a test meeting everything works fine. I did exactly the same steps as I did during the infoday in a test (without any participants of course) but without any problem. The only thing I figured out was, GoTo uses a copy of my NVIDIA driver (see picture below). No idea if this is good or not.
Maybe the problem does not happen when I work directly on my laptop with the tiny screen, but I didn't test it because this is no solution at all. During the training we need a second monitor because we switch really often tabs and we have to answer questions and so on....
Please let me know if you need any further information. We need to solve this as soon as possible. Tomorrow I have another meeting.
Thank you for your help 🙂
