We have been using GTW for about 8 months now and have been pretty happy overall with the performance. But we are running into an issue, and unsure if it can be resolved.
When we run a webinar and the presenter is outside of mainland China and the participant is in mainland China, everything seems to be OK. And vice-versa too (presenter in mainland China, and participant outside of mainland China).
But when the presenter and participant are BOTH in mainland China, the performance of GTW is very poor for the participant. My guess is that GTW does not have servers in mainland China, and all the webinar data has to leave China, and be re-routed back to the participant in mainland China.
From our testing, doing this one-way is OK (one party in mainland China and the other party outside of mainland China), but when both parties are in mainland China, it does not work well at all.
We ran a test with a competitor's webinar product, keeping everything else the same (presenter, participant, locations for both, the computers used etc) and the webinar run just fine.
So first of all is anyone here running webinars entirely within mainland China successfully? Is there anything you were able to do to configure a setup that worked better? We ran with the participant running the desktop GTW app, and we still had performance issues.
And second, is my assumption correct that GTW does not have servers in mainland China and the need to route data out of China and back in, is what is causing the poor performance of GTW?
