Flashing taskbar notification

At some stage in the past few weeks, possibly after an update, the flashing Taskbar notification has stopped working for us. To elaborate - It's the flashing taskbar icon we used to see when a new session was started or a connected user sent a message when the IE or FFox windows did not have focus.

It's the same on both IE8 and FF3.5 on both Vista and Win7 RC1 - the sound plays, but we quite often miss that if we don't have our headphones on. The visual flashing taskbar icon was a great visual cue. Is there a setting somewhere that I've missed? Has anyone else experienced this problem or is it just us?

This is just one of the problems I've been having since the latest technician console. But in my case the windows blinking notification (which is an OS feature) will not stop, even when I bring the console to the front (active window). It happens with Internet Explorer. At the same time, some other console features like menus and button stop responding until I refresh and reload the console. I would describe the issue/s as the console acting exactly like when you have a dialog box open and you cannot do anything else until you click ok or close on such dialog box. Again, my console starts acting like there was some active dialog box waiting for me to close it and not letting me do anything else. This is why I think in this case, the same problem can manifest in different ways for different users and machines, but there is one point of origin, and that is the "invisible" dialgo box.

Was this ever resolved? My old XP Pro/IE8 system has been flashing the taskbar fine, but I just got a new computer. It has Win7 Pro and the taskbar no longer flashes.

Since I keep my sound off, I don't know a user has connected unless I keep IE open on the desktop. Some kind of visual notification would be useful.
