LastPass App and Safari plugin on Mac don't work.

Make sure you ask the support person to check to see if any shared passwords are corrupted. Somehow they have a way to see a corruption in shared passwords. Once they told me which shared password was corrupted I just removed it from my lastpass and it started working again.

I had tried a number of things listed, but what worked for me and has stayed working for over a week now, was to delete the Lastpass Mac App, follow below to reset my account, reload my passwords, re-install the App- https://support.lastpass.com/s/document-item?language=en_US&bundleId=lastpass&topicId=LastPass/reset-account-recovery.html&_LANG=enus
Basically you delete app, export your passwords, reset your account and import your passwords, re-install app.

Safari and the Mac Lastpass app have been working fine since.

Still doesn't work. I tried that link too, replies take a week or two. They found the corrupted passwords, but did not fix it.

I had the same issue and opened a support case through https://support.lastpass.com/s/createrecord/Create_Case asking to specifically look for a corrupted shared password. They responded within a few hours saying I was right to request this and told me they had found one. But, after I deleted it, the issue was still there.

I then asked to check again and, lo and behold, there appeared to be another corrupted shared password. Deleting that one too, resolved the issue. Yay.

They also mentioned that they are working on a fix...

\I managed to contact them via https://support.lastpass.com/s/contact-us?language=en_US . I called them and they said they would get back to me and actually did. They emailed me with a link to the corrupt shared password.

How in the world do you think that this is solved?!?!!? Most certainly NOT solved.

Not solved. I understand the theory of this solution, but how do we implement it if we cannot find the corrupt passwords? And if support is no longer working?

If they are no longer doing support, what does one do to even test this solution?

Bummer. I have a case going with their support and they cannot fix it either.

The suggested an app to be sure it's completely removed before I reinstalled. No joy. Didn't work.

What do you think about other options? I found 1password, but what else is there that lets you share passwords that it's easy to transfer the ones I have? Any advice?

Oh man... I just installed another update and we're back to square one. It is broken again. I'm on LastPass 4.116.0 now. The previous version worked. This one does not.

Did another full install after talking to support. No job. The bug is persistent.

I just installed the latest update and it seems that the problem is resolved. I can now open the LastPass app and also use LastPass in Safari.

I also had an issue where I had to login again and faced the same issue. I did find another place in the community that said they were able to resolve the issue by finding and removing a corrupted "shared" password. I reached out to LastPass and they identified a corrupted shared password. I removed it and so far I am not facing the issue any more. Crossing my fingers!

My main reason for using lastpass rather than the keychain is the ability to share passwords with my family. I too have been very frustrated by this apparent bug. Anyone know of another password keeper that allows you to share passwords?

You are correct that this works. I have seen this for weeks to be a "work around", but it really is not.

First, you will have to do this every time you try to use the app. That is not a working app.

Second, this will remove any changes that you have made while offline! So if you made updates, say goodbye to those. Poof!

Third, while this "gets you in" the app still will not sync while you use this work around (a continuing part of the bug is that the desktop app won't sync anymore), so if you make changes with the app having connected this way, those will not sync and if you make changes elsewhere (say on a mobile app) those will not sync with the desktop app, so although this "gets you in" the desktop app thus accessed is not actually syncing or working.

It has been months now since the desktop app has last worked, because of this bug. Although I am a paying customer (and my company and employees too) and have been for years, I think I'm about ready to switch to another password manager. Does anyone have a recommendation for how to migrate to another app like 1password or a recommendation for another password manager in general? This has become too difficult to work around and lastpass does not seem to fixing it. What should I use instead and how do I migrate?

Hey I may have found a solution!

I opened up the LastPass app and entered in my login information and the icon began spinning. I then immediately went to the menu bar and went to File Menu and did "Clear Cache."

At first it just timed out. I did it again and I am now logged in using my lastPass App.

I suppose the cache was too full or corrupted or something.. who knows? It worked!

I am having the same problem. I filed a ticket with LastPass and followed all the suggestions. No resolution yet. Are you using an M1 Mac? I have to believe it is something unique about M1 Macs or something else since the issue doesn't seem to be happening to all Macs.

The Chrome Add-in still works for me and also as you pointed out it still works on my phone etc.

Let's gather as much info as we can so that the lastPass developers can fix this issue.

Yes, I use the LastPass Authenticator. It is triggered by my login request and I approve on my iPhone.

Are you using any king of Multi Factor Authentication (e.g. LastPass Authenticator, DUO...)?

We are trying to reproduce the issue but no luck so far. I myself have a M1 Mac on Ventura 13.3.1 and I dont have the issue.

I have the same issue and I see that there are lots of people that do too (from searching).

I've had this for weeks. It's super annoying that I cannot use the Last Pass desktop as a paying customer.

I just see the spinning safe after I enter my username and password.

I've uninstalled the app, restarted, reinstalled, etc. Just a waste of time.

According to Reddit, you know about this and you are fixing. Is that true? When will I have access to lastpass again?
