When would development on the fullscreen Beta feature be completed?

Windows desktop application's Beta pop-out view is awkward in that the assumption seems to be a user would only be using GotoMeeting. Its dashboard panel and content screen do not have the customary Windows top-right buttons that minimize and maximize. Both just stay there in static mode which at times result in interference of accessibility to the desktop and other running applications. Furthermore, clicking the "fullscreen" mode option does nothing than a slight percentage shift of viewing space because all the surrounding interaction icons are still visible and taking up space. If a participant were to want fullscreen, that might mean to remove all such icons and see only the session's shared content, while going non-fullscreen could conversely be to have the interaction icons reappear.

@DarrenA In case I misunderstood your question, while Flexible Layout is still marked as Beta (needs some finishing touches), it should be available for all GoTo App users to enable and use.

I agree with another contributor on this forum who said, "The 'new' GTM is a serious screen hog, and has absolutely no respect for the need of a user to see OTHER things on the screen besides GTM."

As to the Beta flexible layout, I have two suggestions to make it immediately more usable:

1) Since the pop-out flexible view window has now been given an icon and static name "Screen Sharing" in the Windows taskbar icon, is it possible for its name to be dynamically designated by an Organizer? This can be via Meeting Title in the editing function for rooms, and is logical because attendees are focused on the idea (which should be a specific name) presented by an Organizer.

2) Intuitively for users attending the meeting session, clicking on taskbar icons should minimize or maximize application windows on their desktop. Would this be possible for what is currently called the "Screen sharing" taskbar icon as well? To minimize or maximize it via mouse clicks.

And as a bonus, eventually, if anything were to pop out from the main Gotomeeting application, these could have a unique name as a Windows element to enable precise control for Organizers (and regular attendees). Right now, these pop-ups are typically only accessible by means of ad-hoc mouse movements.

Alright, it is flexible as you described. The "X" button, to remove viewing of other participants, is welcome...and it seems to recognize my preference as other participants do not show up again when restarting Goto...only the control dashboard and session content are visible.

With fullscreen mode (via four arrows icon), a slight glitch is that it sometimes encompasses the Windows taskbar, thus necessitating a flip to its other, flexible mode (via two arrows icon) to obtain access of desktop and other applications.

Another thing seems strange is that the Goto applications do not show up on Windows taskbar. Instead, there is the omnipresent dashboard panel. My preference would be to have it tucked away in the taskbar as an icon for full-blown access when required, rather than getting into everything else's way by its static presence. And the most important thing: the shared content, does not have its own icon on the Windows taskbar. With the availability of such an icon, it would become intuitive for users to move between the GotoMeeting shared content, other Windows applications, and the desktop.

Yes, while it is beta, it is functional for all clients that join the meeting rooms. Thanks for the clarification.

Hi @DarrenA, welcome to the community.

When you are using the Flexible Layout option you can move and resize the various windows (Chat, Webcam, Attendee list, etc) by placing your cursor over the edge of the window, then click+hold and drag to resize the window. If you click on the X in the upper corner of the window it will close, clicking on the feature's icon in the toolbar will open it again.

The tool bar is really the only window that cannot be minimized, but you can choose which Quick Access options are displayed or not so it can be collapsed horizontally to reduce it's size.
