One of my users has been unable to authenticate with 2fa for most of today. I eventually switched him out of 2fa and then back into it once he connected. He did not have Lastpass Authenticator on his phone, so I had him reinstall it. When I had him reset his 2fa information and re-register the app, I then told him to make sure he had his phone number in place. He has repeatedly tried to enter the phone number but gets the error message "For security reasons, the ability to send text messages has been suspended for this account. Please try again later." He cannot register the phone.
Other users at this company, myself included, can get SMS auth codes without an issue.
I tried to search for this error message but was instead given a slew of articles about setting up security in general, absolutely none of which included 'here are some possible reasons why SMS authentication or changing SMS settings might be suspended'.
