CPU usage always maxed out

We have multiple LMI licenses and use them constantly to connect to customers all over the country and world. More often than not, we find that the CPU usage on lmi_rescue.exe on the customer's PC is really high - 30% to 90%. To counteract this, we are having to go into Task Manager and set the priority for the process to Low.

I also always notice two lmi_rescue.exe processes running in Task Manager - why is this?

Can i ask what OS the computers are that you are connecting to? Are they windows 7? Using the Aero desktop experience features ?

I work with 10-20 computers a day and have the issue on almost every one. It gets very frustrating working with slow and unresponsive computers. The has to be a fix other than turning off hardware acceleration. I can not turn off hardware acceleration for every customers computer. I do not remember this happening with an older version of LogMeIn Rescue.

This does not fix the issue. I change this setting on dozens of computers a week, and it only occasionally will drop the CPU usage down noticeably. But on every computer I login to, the CPU takes up anywhere from 20% to 95%.

Hi,

I am happy to say that I have the answer to this issue. I am on a Logmein Rescue Trial at the moment and have been liaising with Logmein support to try and resolve this issue but they have not been able to help me. I am also trialing gotoassist express with similar results. To resolve this issue all you need to do is go to the display properties and then click on settings then click on advanced and then select the troubleshoot tab. Reduce the hardware acceleration slider to its minimum and the CPU usage will in a lot of cases go down as low as 10%. Reducing the hardware acceleration on a server display is not going to cause anyone any problems as they will not playing games or anything of that nature on the server (I hope). Incidentally this is exactly the same issue as I used to have with VNC software which is how I discovered a work around. I am surprised that I cannot find anywhere on the logmein forum that shows how to resolve this issue or that logmein support do not seem to have the answere. I have also found that it affects Windows Server 2000 .This also resolves the issue with gotoassist express. I hope this helps someone
