LogMeInRescue keeps hanging & being slow - Windows 7 - interactive services?

Hi there

I have a problem with accessing some Windows 7 machines, you are able to logon, but the session will freeze and become almost unusable.

There is one error in the log that seems related

The LogMeIn Rescue (ba037c00-0942-49a4-8de6-4aa6f2cb31a5) service is marked as an interactive service. However, the system is configured to not allow interactive services. This service may not function properly.

Any thoughts?

A while since this was read but have eactly the same problem... did a solution ever come up?

Have the exact same issue - take control of Win 7 machine - works for couple of seconds then freezes. Absolutely fine with other machines just one or two that this is happpening to and cant see any pattern to it...

Did you manage to fix this issue?

Brand new install of Windows 7, no spyware or malware infections.

Basically you take control of the users PC it responds for maybe 3 seconds and then you're frozen out, if you close the session and click on remote control again it will respond for 3 more seconds etc etc.

It doesn't seem to fit a pattern, some Windows 7 brand new machines are fine yet others aren't.

Has anyone else had this problem and are LogMeIn looking into it.

That error log entry is unrelated to the problem, I see it in every single computer I connect. You can safely ignore it.

These computers that you are having slow access too, I have to ask:

How fast is the client side upload internet speed? Fast enough? Are there other people doing heavy downloading/uploading on the same networ? Have you tried manually lowering the feed to black and white? Do you have the same problem in Safe Mode?

I assume there are no malware infections. Have you checked other PC's on the netowork?

Tried the above solution, but still not having any luck

The problem seems to be rather erratic, in that some Windows 7 machines are fine, but others not

I've tried various combinations of having users with/without passwords, disabling / enbling the firewall, disabling TCP/IP V6....but nothing seems to help.

Very odd!

If anyone else has any ideas, it would be most appreciated :smileyhappy:

Check this service on the remote machine:

"Interactive Services Detection". If its not started try starting it.

If its started, try disabling it.

See if either of those help.

Don't forget to check back and let us know how you got on. That way if we see the error again we will know how to resolve it.
