I established communication via phone with Lexmark Manila. I downloaded and installed the Support-LogMeInRescus.exe and installed it on Win 7 Professional 64 bit. I used the pin number to connect. The technician successfully connected to my machine and disabled kapersky and reinstalled printer drivers. The problem started when he tried to reboot. The Lexmark branded LogMeInPro window was trying to reestablish the connection. There is no taskbar and no icons. I am able to use Ctl-Alt-Del to get the task monitor, but I cannot do anything. I am only able to boot using the safemode with networking. I have been searching the LogMeIn Pro knowledge base and searching for information. I tried the uninstall mirror command that a person named Jeremy from LogMeIn had posted. It said that the session was no longer valid and did not fix the problem. This is my work computer and I really need to fix this.
First off, if you can open task manager, try killing all LogMeIn processes. Next, see if the technician ran rescue as a service. If he did, you'll need to uninstall that (Registry > HKLM > System > CurrentControlSet > Services, delete any sub-folders that appear to be rescue related and restart). Also, make sure that explorer.exe is running, as that controls both the taskbar and the desktop icons.
Hope that helps.
I am also concerned because the Lexmark support staff are friendly, but they don't know anything about this software and I don't think that they have higher level support staff to back them up. Obviously someone will not be able to fix my problem using remote administration since I have to boot using safe mode with networking.
