Using Logmein Rescue with Prepay Vodem (USB Modem)

I have a pc that I need to give access to a supplier for a short period of time, hopefully an hour or so, so they can configure some specialised software. They are in Korea, we are in NZ.  The pc is in a factory and I will only have a prepay vodem (USB Modem) to connect to the internet.

If they are only changing settings etc.. rather than transferring files, is there any way of telling how much prepay I will need loaded to allow this to happen, or are there any other better alternatives?

If I understand correctly, these people in Korea will be accessing your computer using LogMeIn Rescue while you are connected to the internet using a USB modem (dailup).

 

In that case, yes. They should be perfectly able to connect and adjust anything they need to in your computer. I have successfully serviced client over dialup (using black and white screen sharing for faster stream). I'd recommend that if you are going to need any software installed, then you should pre-download it from another PC with high-speed internet and put it in a flash drive or cd/dvd.

 

Ask them to send you the installation file for the Calling Card. Otherwise you'll be using ActiveX download and it will take longer to connect. If you have their Calling Card installed you'd just enter the PIN they give you and connect immediately since there is nothing to download.
