Problem with Q:\ drive

Sometimes,on some vista or windows 7 clients,system info reports about presence of Q:\drive.Because i use avira command line version,scan option is to scan all drives.The problem is:in client computer with odd Q drive,avira wont work!.The solution is to set avira to scan only C drive.I wonder what does Q:\ means,and is there any solution for this problem (except scanning only C drive)

I did some goggling and find out something about Q:\http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982434

It seems that there is no way to detect presence of q:\drive,so i must write additional script for avira to scan C:\ drive ONLY (scancl.exe c:\) in that case everything works fine.IF EXIST Q:\ (do some job) ELSE (do another job) doesn't work!!.
