Feature request: Disable User Input

Several times now we have come across the issue where the user tries to use the computer and starts writing e-mails etc whilst we are trying to fix things (causing a fight for the mouse pointer!) :smileytongue:

Would it be possible to add a button to the top menu bar that disables a users mouse/keyboard inputs? And possibly only allowing keyboard in the log me in rescue applet if we bring focus to it?

It wouldn't be too hard to create a script that enables and disables input on the host computer.

Good idea, totally agree.

I have been thinking about this quite a bit, and even had to watch other support seesions first hand. Quite often the customer side needs to tell the technician something whilst they are watching the service being carried out. What I thought of is this....

Dont know if it is possible or not, but what if it were done in a way like windows built in UAC interface. When technican logged on, the client screen dims to a see through black, with just the chat interface open and accessible to them, sort of like a layer sitting on top of the desktop that the customer can close if required, but blocking their input on the support session.
