Closing Console logs remote PC off :(

On a number of random occasions on my own workstations that didn't used to have this problem Rescue Applet with unattended access is logging off the remote machine when my technician console closes. I'm not going to sit here and go into detail on how bad this is for me. I couldn't think of anything worse than knowing that there's a chance by closing my console I'm logging off the remote PC. It seems to only happen on computers on my LAN, although I'm not using the LAN connect feature.

It is very obvious these problems started with the last version. I NEED to know when to expect a resolution! Thank you.

I contacted LMI support about this very issue about 18 months ago. Sad to see they haven't addressed it.

The only solution I could come up with after extensive talks with LMI support was to install an end user copy of LMI, log in with that first, disconnect telling LMI Free not to log off the computer and then use Rescue to log in again - kind of pointless if you're already controlling the remote computer with Free in the first place.

I asked for this to be addressed well over a year ago.

Does anyone know if they have provided a fix for this yet? What is the point of having remote support software if you can't even keep a server logged in?

This is a known fact that I've discussed with tech support- whatever state the remote machine is in when LMI Rescue connects is the way the remote machine is left when the session disconnects. IOW- if the remote machine is logged out when connecting, then you log in and run some programs, lock the computer, and disconnect, the remote machine will log off and kabosh any running programs. Personally, I think this is piss-poor, as even their free product allows you to choose in the settings how you want the machine left when it closes the session! At $1300 a year per seat, I would expect Rescue to be a bit smarter than the free version, but it's not.

Here's the story. I have a couple server's that have to have the console session open to run listening applications. So basically if the server is logged off it's no good. So when I connect to this server it's definetly already logged in. Then when I close the remote support boom it logs off the operating system and makes the server useless.

The ONLY place this has happened is on my LAN, using unattended access on two different server 2008 standard boxes.

I have no idea if this still happens because those servers are gone now. Thank you anyway!

This isnt 100% confirmed, but did you log into the PC using logmein or was it already logged in? I have a feeling you logged into that PC using logmein and it wasnt already logged in. Let me know if this isnt the case? If it is, try have the computer already logged in.

I had this exact same problem occur recently on a customer's computer, and it created a very bad situation that took a long time to undo. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!
