Incompatible Firefox V 5.0

Hi all,

I just updated my Firefox to the latest version 5.0 and seen that LogMeIn Rescue will no longer run. I get the following message:

Unsupported Browser

It looks like you are trying to use the Technician Console with a browser we don’t support.

Supported browsers:
- Internet Explorer 6, 7 or 8
- Firefox 3.6

Is there a way round this without resorting to using IE or restoring a previous version of Firefox??

Addendum: It would be more accurate to say that IETab doesn't use the login credentials stored by FF - FF still stores them and they will work again if IETab is disabled.

I have found a simple solution to this problem that works reliably.

Download and install IETab 2 from the Mozilla Addons site. Make sure that the version you select is 3.5.9.1. There are other versions on that site that are not compatible with FF5. In the settings for the addon, add *.*logmeinrescue*.* as a rule and restart FF. Rescue will now work.

If you want to avoid the plugin prompt when using LMI Central, the change the rule to *.*logmein*.*

The only downside that I can see is that when using this addon, FF does not remember login credentials for LMI so you will have to login manually each time (unless someone can come up with a solution to that).

LMI hasn't even released a version fully compatible with Firefox 4. (still waiting....if you're behind a proxy you're screwed)
