My company routinely login to dozens of computers daily, all over the US. More often than not, the CPU usage on the applet makes the remote computer very slow, and runs anywhere from 20% to 95%.
And no, reducing/disabling hardware acceleration in the display advanced options does not fix this. At most it will reduce it by half, but half of 95% is still an unusable system. Even setting the priority to Low is only slightly helpful.
Please - admit there is a problem, and FIX IT. I have been dealing with this for over a year now. Back when we first got LogMeIn, this was never a problem, but now this is ridiculous, especially when we are trying to run CPU intensive programs simultaneously. The whole system will basically freeze and I have to pause my session just to get it working again.
