server appears offline after a reboot but isnt

I have installed logmein in unattended mode on a couple of servers which work fine initially but when the server gets rebooted they appear as offline, when i log on using rdp i find the logmein service will not start, i then have to delete the service and reinstall again but the next time it reboots it wont start again.

The error i get when starting the service is The LogMeIn Rescue service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do.

I've tried rebooting the server and a workstation and sometimes (lately) get the "off line" message. Tonight I did a restart on a workstation; logged in to the server and could see the files on that workstation.

Seems a lot of folks are having this issue. I've been using LMI for a few years and haven't seen a good rev since the free one. I would PAY to get the free one. It seems a CONSTANT battle trying to get this cluge to work.

Am tryng to Teamviewer at a lower price - have used it on occasions and my clients like it, too.

P.S. What an ineffective way to run a 'service' organization.

I finally got a fix!

- Delete these folders
  c:\UserName\users\appdata\local\LogMeIn Rescue
  c:\UserName\users\appdata\local\LogMeIn Rescue Applet
  c:\UserName\users\appdata\local\LogMeIn Rescue Unattended
- Keep trying - I had files in use - Had to do a reboot and try again to get rid of all of them
- Remove the service from services by copying the service name and run command prompt with the following syntax; sc delete LMIRescueUA_1574126
- After that restart the computer and reinstall the app from scratch - request unattended access and it works again!

Has this issue been resolved yet? I have yet to find a root cause of this problem anywhere on your site either in a community posting or in a knowledge book area. This has caused a major problem within my company/department and having to reinstalled is really not a great option/answer. All of my customers deal with healthcare so physically being at the server is sometimes impossible.

When I call the service line, I speak to a first level technician and then my call gets transferred to a second level tech that is either hard to understand, does not have a clear understanding of the product they support, or just gives a generic answer such as, just remove and re-install that should correct the problem, if not call back.

That is not the type of customer service I would expect and I am sure you would not like it either. My business deals with the care of patients in hospitals, so I expect better service and support.

Try logging onto a client machine on the same network. Open Internet Explorer, and login to your logmein Console. From here try using the Connect on Lan function. This will connect you to the console and from here you can install unattended access.

I will certainly do this but is there no way to install it via rdp as some of the servers we look after have no monitors or keyboards and some are many hours away.

Try having someone physically at the server, and installing unattended access to the physical/admin console.
