Was it a scam? Should I be worried?

Did I get scammed?? Chat support logmein bell?

This might sound really stupid, but please bear with me.
So my xbox was losing connection and so I went on chat with support from my service provider (Bell)
After a lengthy chat, on an official bell chat, he asked me to run logmein so he could remote access my computer to fix it. I allowed and gave him access ( I know I sound like a complete idiot). I went and told my mother what happened, when she freaked out and told me to turn off the computer etc, which I did. I'm sort of worried that I got scammed, but I didn't give him any important imformation and this was all on the official bell website. On logmein, he gave me a code and the when I tried to go to the site again it told me that the code was expired and to ask my service provider for a new one. Nothing really happened, but I'm worried. Did I get scammed, or are me and my mom just paranoid?

 

it was called logmein rescue, and is apparently used for it helpdesks etc to help their customers. this is making me feel a bit safer.

Logmein Rescue is a real product used to help millions of people resolve tech problems all over the world.

 

Whilst I can't comment on whether Bell use Logmein Rescue, your narrative seems plasuable...making one assumption....you initiated contact to your service provider using your service providers official channel(s).

 

If you did there is nothing to worry about, if you didn't then you'd only have yourself to blame.

 

Do remember whilst Logmein Rescue helps millions a year; just like a car it can also be used for bad things beyond the provider/manufacturers control.
