Hi,
I'm the Network Admin for a K-12 school district. We have a vendor who is trying to use LogMeIn Rescue for remote support of an application. Unfortunately, it's not working.
The vendor gives us a code, and we then download the installer. After the installer runs, LogMeIn crashes while trying to connect.
While a crash is unusual, I'm used to having to tweak our content filter for remote access applications to work. However in this case, even when running LogMeIn as an unfiltered user with administrative rights to the PC, the crash still happens. The only way I can make this work is to bypass our proxy entirely, and that's not a viable solution.
Making matters more difficult is LogMeIn seems to provide no information to help resolve this. I cannot find any documentation that pertains to getting LogMeIn to work through a web filter or proxy, neither of which is an unusual situation. Likewise I cannot find a test "room" hosted by LogMeIn that I could use to test connectivity, and the codes my vendor provides can only be used once and timeout after 20 minutes. This all makes troubleshooting nearly impossible.
There really ought to be some documentation about this type of a configuration. Maybe I'm missing something? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
James
