Rescue - Instant Chat - Browser refresh closes the session

Hi,

I am using LMI Rescue Hosted Instant chat Channel form.

When my customer refreshes the the browser window, the session closes which is very annoying. I have tried this in both Firefox and Chrome.

Also, it is independent of whether the applet has been downloaded or not. This issue occurs either way.

Wondering if someone knows what I am doing wrong or has any tips.

Also, would like to know if browser refresh works fine for anyone on the forums.

Our organization suffers from this issue as well and we might have to switch to another chat provider due to this issue.

I've tested this for a few weeks ago and it seemed to survive browser refreshes in Google Chrome. We therefor began customizing the instant chat to be available on every page of our site, but now we struggle with the same issue as you describe. Every time a user refreshes the browser window or navigates to another page, the session is ended (by the user according to LogmeIn). You can actually see it happen just before the page is able to reload, so LogmeIn doesn't even try to keep the connection open...

This issue also exists in the example code found in the documentation. I'm not sure if there's a setting in the admin console that would fix this issue, but I need this sorted out quickly. I really hope LogmeIn can respond to this issue. I've also opened a case hoping for a solution.

We have this exact issue too. Its; extremely anoying and a real bug bear for us. Once teh chat window gets closed they have to chat via Notepad or something which is hugely unprofessional!

I know it's possible to have teh chat as an applet but eth only way I can see how to do it is to have teh customer download something befor ethey even start catting to you which is not good. some don't want to do taht especially if they are only asking a quick question.

Ideally what we need is teh satdanrd chat, then when they download teh remote control applet it opens up a new chat window from teh applet. I'm sure I;ve seen it but can't work out how to set it up

Anybody got any ideas on how to do this ?
