XML Scripting

Are there sample XML scripts provided by LogMeIn available that I could use for review?

I want use an XML script that would execute an executable file (with a variable: /RUN) file that would be resident on a customer's computer, uploaded by one of our tech's that would reside in the same file directory all the time.

Paul- I am trying to use this approach, my problem is with the resource file.

Basically, I am scripting to copy the resource file (.exe) from my C:\update.exe (locally, listed as such on the Resources in the Script manager), but in the BATCH file, I do not know how to reference the file.

Tried using

\update.exe /RUN

update.exe /RUN

Where is the resource file copied on the remotely controlled PC?

Anyone's help is appreciated !!

The XML "script" is just an outline for inputting the scripts. XML isn't a scripting language on it's own.

You'd be best to implement this via batch/command scripting, since you'll be placing the files on their machines. You can use relative paths to the executable (resource), if you include that resource with the script in the Tech Console. Otherwise, full file path is needed.

create a file called script.bat

and add the following:

@ECHO OFF

ECHO Running Program

c:\path\to\file.exe /RUN

And then add that as a script into your Scripts section of the Tech Console. I'd also suggest using the export feature, saving that XML, and then taking a look at it so you know what it's doing exactly.
