The computer I am trying to access does not have a username and password to access it but LogMeIn is requestting I enter the Username and Password for the computer. What should I do?
same with me too.. before i never to got this problem.. so how i can fix this? cam i create a new id?
I am having the same issue. The computers in my office do not have usernames and passwords. It has never been a problem with any of the other computers, but the current one I'm trying to connect to is giving me a problem. I have been able to access the computer from the host computer using the username and password I just created for it, but when I try and access it from my home computer or the app it tells me the username and password are incorrect, yet I know for sure they are not. I also used to have access for the one computer and now I don't because I have to enter username and password but again, the computer doesn't have one.
Hello @jbanker ,
Thanks for posting on our Community page!
The username for the computer can be checked on the host itself. That would be actually the Windows/MAC credentials.
If you do not have that set up, the software should ask you to create and access code during the installation.
You can verify that by opening the LogMeIn Control Panel program, and navigate to Options > Password.
If you would like to set up an access code for the remote session instead of the Operating System username and Password, you can create a Windows user called ' LogMeInRemoteUser ' . The password related to this user will be the access code.
Whenever you connect to a host computer running LogMeIn, you must authenticate yourself to the host computer. Do not enter your LogMeIn ID and password. This will result in Error 1326 or Error 5 (incorrect user name and password).
Most computers with multiple users or on a corporate network require you to authenticate in this way. For example, on a Windows PC you are typically forced to press Ctrl-Alt-Delete and enter your user name and password. When connecting via LogMeIn to such a computer, you will be asked to enter the same user name and password you use when logging in locally.
On some computers you may be prompted to enter a Computer Access Code. You made this code when you installed LogMeIn on the computer you are attempting to control. This usually applies to computers that are not configured to require a user name a password (when you start the computer, its ready to go).
Advanced Users: In Windows, the Computer Access Code is actually linked to a hidden Administrator account calledLogMeInRemoteUser. The Computer Access Code is the password for the user LogMeInRemoteUser.
Let me know if you are able to have this fixed or if this is still an issue
Thanks !
Best,
Julie
