Allow Non-Admin User File Sharing Rights

On a PC with the LogMeIn Pro client installed, how can I allow a non-admin user to use the file sharing feature without allowing full control?

 

I see that if I allow Full Control to the Windows user's account within Preferences > Security > Show Details, that they can share files on the local file system.  However, I tried adding just File System R & W, which activated the option in the menu of the system tray app, but does not actually allow the sharing to happen.  When I try it with just these rights, the error message reads "The file you selected could not be shared.  Please make sure you have access to the file and that File Sharing is enabled on this computer for your user account."  I can find no such option.

 

Can anyone help?

You need to enable Configuration and File System Read access for the user in LogMeIn. 

 

I'm using LMI Pro -

1. Connect remotely to the PC
2. Preferences > Security
3. In the Users section, click the Add button
4. List all users and groups button
5. Use the drop-down to select the domain and search the list for the user you wish to grant permission to. List Accounts to refresh.
6. Select the user and click Add
7. Next, you need to configure the permissions to grant the user:
8. Check the box in the R column next to Configuration and File System and apply the changes.
9. Configuration R = Allows the user to view LogMeIn preferences.       You must be an Administrator to change this setting.
10. File System R = Allows the user to list drives, folders and files; read and download files; view file attributes, shared folder information & access control lists; and use File Manager
11. Now the user should be able to right-click a file > Send to... > LogMeIn File Sharing.  Configure the next two screens and a URL should be generated for the user to share with the file recipient.
