We have a LogMeIn Central account and also some staff members have LogMeIn Pro accounts.
For a while now when connecting to our office workstations from home we're finding that LogMeIn is becoming almost unusable as it is so slow.
The main issue being that there is a significant delay from clicking on the home computer to when the action occurs on the office workstation.
For example, when typing characters remotely on a document, there is a noticeable delay between typing the characters and the characters appearing on the screen. Also, when minimising/maximising programs/windows the delay is very similar to using a computer with very little memory - i.e. it draws one line of the window at a time. Very frustrating!!
In terms of the connection speeds, in the office we have 12MB business ADSL+, at home the speeds vary from 8MB to 20MB.
Operating system wise, in the office we use a mixture of Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 (the speed issues occur with both) and at home there is a mixture of Windows 7 and Mac OSX (again the speed issues occur with both).
As a test we set up a trial of GoToMy PC for one of the users. Yesterday he firstly connected remotely (not during a busy time in the office for internet use) via LogMeIn. He found it pretty much unusable - encountering the delays as mentioned above.
He then immediately switched to GoToMy PC and found there were no delays at all - in fact he mentioned that it was about as fast as if he was actually in the office.
We would really like to find out why remote access via LogMeIn is much slower than GoToMy PC. (Adjusting the display settings don't seem to make any difference).
I logged a support ticket but thought it would be worth posting on the forum as well.
Thanks in advance.
