I've been working on this for a few days. I recently installed Windows Server 2012 R2 and then tried to add LogMeIn Pro. It would not let me load the control panel. It kept saying that I needed to connect to the internet. I knew I was connected to the internet and I knew my company firewall wasn't blocking the connection because I had this same setup on different hardware. I called and asked for phone support. They asked me to call back during normal business hours. Since I work during those hours as well, I wasn't able to do so. Long story short, I spent the last four hours messing around with it and have come to the conclusion that the reason it would not let me connection was because the certificate for LogMeIn could not be verified by the certificate authority in my machine. After going to GlobalSign, downloading their root certificates, and then importing them into the Trusted Root Certification Authorities list, I can now load the LogMeIn control panel and complete Unattended Access setup.
Hope someone else finds this and saves a few hours of banging their head against a wall.
