Custom Pin Entry

I'm setting up a custom pin entry for us, and I used this code here: https://secure.logmeinrescue.com/welcome/webhelp/en/customizationintegration/Rescue/Customization/c_Resc_AC_customize_PIN_enrty.html

However error codes are not showing on the page. Is there an updated code that actually works?
