Cannot be started at this time

can not connect with my main computer keep getting sorry go to my pc cannot be started at this time, but all of my other computer will connect. Changed java and reloaded app still no connection

Hello Riccardo,

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble that you have been having. The error message that you are seeing indicates that the GoToMyPC Viewer software wasn't able to properly open from the temp folder. I've included a few possible causes:

1. The GoToMyPC folders in the temp folder have the correct permissions
2. You are able to delete the GoToMyPC viewer software from the temp folder
3. You are running an older version of GoToMyPC and your windows username has a space in it.

1. Sometimes the GoToMyPC folders in the temp folder do not have the correct permissions. Usually this happens because something unexpected happened with the folder's Access Control List (ACL). The ACL keeps track of what users are allowed to view, modify, and delete a folder's contents and if something happens to this list you may get messages about permission being denied even if you are logged into the computer as an administrator.

The folder we use is in %temp% and it begins with "G2_" and ends with GoToMyPC's build number
for example G2_1606, G2_1470, etc.

There is a batch file in this article: http://support.citrixonline.com/en_US/GoToMyPC/knowledge_articles/000126300 that also repairs permissions on these GoToMyPC folders

2. In some cases, security software may be attempting to scan or access the file "g2viewer.exe" in the temporary folder. You can navigate into the G2_ folders and see if you are able to delete the file. Newer versions of Windows may let you know if another program is using the file g2viewer.exe. If it's a security program, you may have to tell it to exclude the G2_ folder from scanning and reboot the computer to be able to delete this file.

3. There was an issue with usernames that had a space in them that has been fixed with newer versions of GoToMyPC.

Is there somebody so kind to give me an advising ? I am not able to connect with my remote PC by means of gotomypc and this is making me very frustrated. Do I have to change service provider for this type of application ?

I am having the same problem. Once I try to connect to my office computer abroad from the one I have in my local office it starts to connect but suddenly appears a warning Windows saying "sorry go to my pc cannot be started at this time". Computer brand new ASUS , system win 8.1 . Operatins already done :

- restarted both local and host PCs

- all "g...exe" files authorized on firewall

- removed twice the folders "G2_"
