New non Java launcher for GoToMyPC.

Hi,

Due to recent Java issues we have deployed our new non Java launcher for GoToMyPC, some of you may notice that connecting to your Host computer is a little different the first time.

Depending on if you are using a Mac or a PC, you may be prompted to download and install our new launcher the first time you connect to your Host. Once you have installed the launcher you should not be prompted to install it again (unless there is an update for it).

Please Note: If you see the option to Remember your choice, make sure you check it or your browser may ask you to download he launcher again the next time you connect.

I have downloaded the launcher .exe file, but when I try to run it, nothing happens at all. Using Firefox 42.0 on Windows XP. Any idea what might be going on?

The launcher I am getting does not offer that option. I click install gotomypc, I save the file and then have to click on the launcher to connect. I have to repeat this every time I want to connect. I am on XP with Firefox.

Thanks Glenn. Sorry but you guys left it too late and I've already quit. I eventually got a response to my support request - about 24 hours later - with no information just a request to call and discuss it. That's very poor support from an apparently big successful company. It's obviously badly managed. Tell your bosses! But bottom line is the app didn't work.

Hi Ed, sorry for the frustration. I'd be happy to try and help you, could you provide some more details please? From looking at your account I see that your Host computer is listed as Online and ready to connect, what exactly is happening when you try to reconnect to it? I also located your Email where you mention the Inactivity Time Out, that can be adjusted in the Preferences: http://support.citrixonline.com/en_US...

not very impressed w gotomypc.

I asked the same question by direct support several hours ago but no response

My bad for assuming I could trust this tool ie go on holiday thinking I could access my work PC after a test seemed to indicate everything worked. Since then I have not been able to login.

Basically gotomypc sucks

I dont get an option to "Always Trust" or I woul dhave done that a long time ago

With Internet Explorer, when the "Do you want to Run?" box is displayed, look for the box marked "Always trust" and check it. From then on it should launch automatically.

Hi Nicole, it's actually your web browser that you need to tell. What web browser do you typically use?

How do I get to that Launcher to Remember the choice - I have to download and run and run again everytime and I log on and off of my computer dozens of times in a day times adding 4 more clicks to every log on in an already too busy day. It is a PAIN!
